Comedian George Carlin Dies at 71
The counter-culture hero, famed for his routines about drugs and dirty words, died of heart failure at a Los Angeles-area hospital Sunday, a spokesman said.
We will miss you! Thank you for all you have done for the comedy community and indirectly for our society, in general. You were the reality check that so many needed. And, you made us laugh ’till we hurt.
TiVo (with its repeat-the-last-8-seconds “do over” button) and Carlin is a tough combination on those laugh muscles!

Carlin was selected last week by the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts to receive this year’s Mark Twain Prize, a lifetime achievement award presented to an outstanding comedian.
