Domestic Abuse
As our nation celebrates its independence, I wish for the same for my mom and other victims of domestic abuse.

It’s gotten worse. My mom hasn’t hit “bottom” but it’s worse. This month was the annual family reunion on my maternal grandfather’s side. They’re a bit odd, but it’s all the family my mom has left, and they are the cousins she grew up with. Nearly all of them live in other places now, so […]
We made the trip home, and it wasn’t easy, but my mom’s Will is done and secured in a place where more than one of us can get to it. I won’t go into all the details, but Thursday was one long, giant fight. We got there at ~3pm and she showed up at 3:30 […]

For two years, we went with college kids to the Gila National Forest to do trail construction. We worked on the Continental Divide Trail which goes from Mexico to Canada. It was a great way to spend a few days of work advising students. We hauled a lot of flat rocks to build the trail. […]
E’s coworker ended up having to go out of state for family stuff. So, E has to work at least part of the day on Thursday. The bank (where we’d get the notary and another witness, and where there is a safe deposit box for the Will) is closed on Good Friday. So, we’ll have to make the […]
Happy 14th Anniversary to us! I say it all the time and still mean it…every day really is better than the last. We celebrated a little on Saturday with a trip to Shoal Creek Saloon for crawfish (for me) and pork chops (for E). Tonight, we’re going to get more rocks and then for tacos […]
